Stanze al Genio: House Museum of Majolica Tiles in Palermo

Discover Stanze al Genio in Palermo, a unique house museum with over 4900 majolica tiles from the 15th to the 19th century.

In the heart of the historic Kalsa district, within the noble floor of Palazzo Torre Pirajno, you will find the "Stanze al Genio" House Museum. Thanks to a careful, self-funded restoration, which receives no external contributions, the original 16th-century decorations and flooring have been brought back to light, creating an authentic historical setting for the collections.
The exhibition path, accessible year-round exclusively by reservation and through a guided tour, winds through eight rooms. The core is an extraordinary collection of over 4900 majolica tiles, produced in Italy between the 15th and 19th centuries and organized by period and origin. The experience is enriched by charming smaller collections of vintage stationery, tin boxes, old toys, and contemporary ceramic works, making the visit a unique journey through time and art.
